    The sun was just beginning to set, painting the sky in brilliant orange and pink hues. Clouds drifted far and few on the pastel canvas, and the chirping songs from local birds were starting to settle down as the birds returned to their nest.    A small light gray and white rat with light blue eyes peeked up over the edge of her cage, blinking against the pink light cast from the window. She glanced around the room, her whiskers twitching a bit as she shuffled her feet.    "Galia, go back to bed..." A husky voice mumbled out from a nest near her. The large shape in the nest shifted a bit and glanced up at her with piercing emerald eyes.
